About

The National Education Association is the nation's largest professional employee organization, representing more than 3 million elementary and secondary teachers, higher education faculty, education support professionals, school administrators, retired educators and students preparing to become teachers.

National Education Association

The National Education Association represents nearly 500,000 education support professionals (ESPs) who work at every level of education—from pre-school to higher education. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state and in more than 14,000 communities across the United States. One third of all public school employees are ESPs who work to ensure student success by taking the vision of the whole student into action every day. ESPs promote quality education and foster positive learning environments so students are ready to learn and able to achieve at their highest levels.

The NEA represent ESPs in the following nine career families:

  • Clerical
  • Custodial and Maintenance
  • Food and Child Nutrition
